Keyword Selection is the Key to Online Profits!
Keyword research and final keyword selection are the most important things you will do when deciding on a niche to promote, or product or service to sell for affiliate commissions.
Whether you are using SEO for organic search, Adwords for Pay-per-Click, or Adsense for website income the keywords you choose for both your content and campaigns will determine your success or failure.
Really, I can't emphasise this enough, but effective Keyword Research, or the total lack of it is why most new affiliates and internet marketers fail to make money online.
Many will just pick a niche, like say iPods, because that's what they think is cool and the demand is obviously there, but they don't do much if any keyword research, before getting right in there to start promoting the products.
By doing effective keyword research, which to be honest is not that difficult although sometimes it can take time, you put yourself in a much better position to make some good money.
With experience you will be able to become confident enough to realise that if your keyword research is done right, then you will know that you will make money, as you have already done it several times before.
Getting to this stage can also take a while, but to get there you have to start doing keyword research now!
Google's Free Keyword Research Tool Is The Best!
Personally I use the free keyword tool supplied by Google. Essentially this tool is for those doing Adwords and is referred to as the Adwords external keyword tool because users do not have to log into their account to use it. This means we can use it for free too.
Recently it was updated to include Search Volume information as well, and for me this made the other paid tools redundant and of course way too expensive as they are not free. Many still use these tools though, but I expect that is because they have become used to using them.

This tool may not be for everyone and it is not yet know how accurate the search volume results are. But as the data is coming direct from Google I am happy to rely on it more than the other tools as it is likely to be more accurate then they are.
Also you should check out the other tools, especially Keyword Elite, as they provide a lot more functionality to help you with other more complex keyword tasks than you get form the basic Google tool. The all work in different ways to look at each before deciding which is the best match for your individual style of doing things.
Most of the paid keyword research tools offer some sort of free or trial period so getting to know them all before committing is easy to do.
